Chargers 2-0 in Preseason

Halfway through the preseason and the Chargers are sitting at a perfect 2-0 after two dominating performances.

Game #1 - 217-0 Win over Yukon Blue Bombers

The Chargers entered the hostile territory that is the Yukon and walked away with an absolutely decimating 217-0 victory in their debut game. A devestating defensive shutdown which held the Blue Bombers to only 22 yards rushing and 135 yards passing on 100 attempts, the Chargers showed them who was boss with a shutout victory. The offensive attack didn't let up either scoring 217 points on 31 touchdowns including 10 passing touchdowns, 12 rushing touchdowns and 8 punt return touchdowns (not to forget one interception returned for touchdown). Yukon fans were left stunned as their hope for a championship looked very bleek as the Chargers took care of business in game #1.

Game Ball: HB Hickory Brandybuck, 25 punt returns for 684 yards and 8 punt return touchdowns.

Game #2 - 71-3 victory over Newfoundland Ospreys

The Chargers expected a tougher challenge as they came home to make their home debut but that only turned out to be partly the case. The Chargers easily manhandled the Ospreys with a 2nd half domination putting up 26 points in the 3rd quarter (after only scoring 24 in the entire first half) and 21 in the 4th quarter. The defense was solid again allowing only 151 net yards with 4 sacks and 1 interception by safety Bob Sanders. The boys on offense did their job fully with 670 total yards including 447.5 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. A solid performance by the BK Whopper with 230 yards and 3 touchdowns including a big 61.5 yard run in the 3rd proved to be too much for the weaker Ospreys as the Chargers celebrated their first home victory.

Game Ball: HB the BK Whopper, 15 rushes for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns
