Chargers Pack Their Bags

WINNIPEG, MB - After weeks of training together, the Winnipeg Chargers will pack their bags and hit the road for the first time as preseason action is getting started for the Canadian BBB #14 league. The Chargers will brave the cold as they head to the arctic that is the Yukon for a date with the Blue Bombers tomorrow afternoon.

"This is really exciting! Not the location that we'd like to spend our first preseason game in, we'd certainly like to be playing at home but it will be nice to finally see these boys play together on the field. These guys have looked amazing in practice and I am quite excited to see what they can do on the gridiron. I think the Bombers are going to be feeling alot of pain tomorrow night," Defensive Co-Ordinator KB told the Charged Up!

The Chargers play the first of four preseason games in the Yukon before returning to Winnipeg to take on Newfoundland and will finish the preseason against Chippawa and Memphis. Each game will bring the Chargers closer to putting the finishing touchs on what should be an unstoppable force. Early polls show that the Chargers are a top 5 league favorite and the preseason should help prove that those polls are correct.

The Blue Bombers don't look like they will provide much of a challenge but it will help get the Chargers ready for the season opener on April 25th when the Chargers head to Lansdowne to take on the Warriors.

"Every game is important and right now, we are still learning how to play together and each extra game will help solidify our team and get us ready for the season. Its going to be fun! The fans are certainly going to have some great football to watch, let's go out and have some fun!" Coach Ryan Betesta told the Charged Up! as the Chargers boarded the plane to head to the tundra that will mark the beginning of the Charger legacy.
